When you look at modern snowboarding design, few shapes carry as much heritage and raw inspiration as the Swift. Long before composite top sheets and complex camber profiles were standard, the foundation for Never Summer Industries was being laid in the powder-filled bowls of Colorado.
Here is the story of how a pure passion for "surfing the snow" evolved into one of the most versatile, high-performance directional lineups on the mountain today.

The Early '80s: Surfing the Snow & the Birth of Swift
The story begins in the early 1980s. Tim and Tracey Canaday weren't just trying to build snowboards. They were obsessed with recreating the weightless, liquid flow of ocean surfing on frozen mountains.
Operating out of a garage, their initial vision birthed the Swift brand. These early boards featured aggressive powder-focused noses, minimalist construction, and swallowtails designed to sink the back of the board and lift the nose effortlessly in deep snow.
Though Swift Snowboards as an independent brand eventually paved the way for the formation of Never Summer Industries in 1991, that original surf-inspired DNA never left the workshop.

2015: The Modern Rebirth
In 2015, Never Summer officially brought the Swift back into the lineup, transforming it from a piece of legacy history into a cutting-edge powder charger.
Equipped with Original Rocker Camber and the Vario Power Grip Sidecut, this era of the Swift provided a surfy, playful feel while maintaining incredible edge hold and high-speed stability. It proved that a vintage-inspired shape could dominate modern terrain.

2018: Refined with Fusion Rocker Camber
By 2018, the Swift took another massive leap forward with the introduction of Fusion Rocker Camber.
By refining the Original Rocker Camber profile, Never Summer enhanced the camber under the back foot. This delivered increased spring out of the tail, better grip coming out of hard turns, and heightened overall stability, all while maintaining the effortless, surfy float in deep snow that made Original Rocker Camber famous.
To meet the demands of backcountry explorers, Never Summer also introduced the Swift Splitboard, allowing riders to skin deep into the backcountry to earn their surf-inspired turns.

2027: The Next Era, the Proto Swift Lineup
For 2027, Never Summer is expanding the lineup to build the best Swifts ever made. The Swift is no longer just a single board. It's now a complete family designed for a much wider range of riders and riding styles.
Beneath the graphics, the entire lineup now features the upgraded PSCM (Precision Stitched Carbon Matrix). This advanced carbon layout acts as an energy-transfer engine, supercharging pop out of turns, increasing torsional response, and dampening chatter at high speeds.

Proto Swift (Hybrid Triple Camber)
The core gets a huge upgrade with the Hybrid Triple Camber profile, retaining the soul and surfy essence of the original while dramatically enhancing straight-line stability, one-footing confidence off chairlifts, and locked-in edge hold during aggressive hard carving.

Proto Swift DT (Directional Twin)
Designed as the "do everything" Swift. It pairs a Recurve Triple Camber profile for hard-charging grip with a slight taper for effortless float. Featuring a twin flex and stance, it stands out as the ultimate directional twin for riders who want power on edge and freedom in freestyle terrain.

Proto Swift ST (Swallowtail)
Engineered specifically for the deepest days of the season. Built with Original Rocker Camber for maximum lift, the ST floats effortlessly through untracked snow. It also features a reinforced aluminum tail, making it the most durable swallowtail on the market, so you can rail tight carving turns on groomers between powder stashes.
