There’s a Mouse in the snowboard factory.
Coming together as a trifecta of an amazing art, culture, and snowboard collaboration, Never Summer Industries is once again teaming up with Grassroots California, and this time working with Stanley Mouse, infamous psychedelic concert poster and album artist, to create a one of a kind, ultra-limited edition, artist series snowboard, and a limited collection of GR x SM x NS apparel.
Trust us. This is a Mouse you’re going to want to catch.
Grassroots California
As their name encapsulates, Grassroots California started at the bottom, and have grown into a leader in cutting edge, art designed hats. From a humble origin, selling a quality piece of handmade headwear on the boardwalk of Venice Beach, Grassroots California, based out of Denver, Colorado, is on a mission. With roots in snowboarding, surfing, and music, Grassroots is now sold in over 300 surf shops and streetwear apparel stores, spanning all 50 states and across 30 countries worldwide, Grassroots has a notorious reputation — it is more than an apparel brand, Grassroots is a movement. Bridging the gap between streetwear and counter-culture fashion, they are celebrated for creating inspiring goods for those “who choose to stand out, be different, [and] create their own path.”
In the recent past, Grassroots has done collaborations with renowned musical artists, namely Jerry Garcia, GRiZ, Method Man, Pretty Lights, and Pink Floyd, as well as projects for organizations such as the Olympics, legendary Colorado concert venue Red Rocks, and professional skateboarder Greg Lutzka. They are always giving back to the community and supporting local movements. Each quarter they choose a charity in which to donate — past projects including Protect Our Winters, planting trees for Earth Day, and support for our National Parks. Grassroots products are produced with the highest quality, technical fabrics, and are known for their art detail and secret pockets, many utilizing environmentally friendly and sustainable hemp. Find Grassroots posted at your local music festival, thread shop, or the NS factory. Their brand new Never Summer collaboration snowboard and apparel are featuring original art from notable rock album artist, Stanley Mouse.

Mouse has had a noteworthy upbringing. Born in Fresno, California, raised in Detroit, rock poster and album artist Stanley George Miller, better known as Stanley Mouse, has created quite the name for himself. His early life involves a rebellious artist spirit, fascinated by the California art movement, and inspired by trend leading artists such as Ed “Big Daddy” Roth, and Rick Griffin.
Stanley started sketching at an early age — he earned his pen name, Mouse, in the seventh grade.
After pursuing his formal education in Michigan, Mouse moved to northern California, at the height of the Summer of Love counter-culture movement. According to Mouse’s biography, “He dropped out to follow a higher calling to do rock posters in San Francisco during the sixties wartime era of social revolution, political passion and musical innovation.” Teaming up with his “Family Dog” gang of artists, and influenced by Modern Style international art and decor, Stanley Mouse has created some of the most well-known psychedelic rock artist posters and album covers, famously embodying groups such as the Grateful Dead, Journey, Steve Miller, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, and Styx.

The Grassroots California team met Stanley ten years ago, and have been working with him ever since. Never Summer linked up with both Grassroots owner and art director to learn more about the project, and their relationship with Mouse. As Ryan, founder of Grassroots, mentioned, “Mouse is a down to earth creative, an awesome dude, and has done so much for the art community.” The artist works out of his studio in Sonoma County, California, where he continues to paint and create music.
Grassroots x Never Summer
The relationship between Never Summer and Grassroots goes way back, for the better part of a decade. In 2016, to mark the 25th anniversary of Never Summer, the duo joined forces to create an original design Proto snowboard. The local designer, Steven Poling, in a tribute to the shared love of the Mile-High city, took a 3D geometric abstract approach to the first board graphic — “a design meant to fit comfortably with the Fall/Winter clothing line, in both color and style.” The limited run snowboard, with only 30 produced, was sold exclusively through Grassroots.
To complement the project, and sold exclusively through Never Summer, Grassroots created two commemorative GR x NS25 hats. The first hat featured a camo print with pearl hemp on the panels, dueling logos, black fine hemp and under visor embroidery, a black and gold NS woven logo hit on the front, and a satin liner. The second also utilized black and pearl hemp, this time on charcoal wool, a top and bottom black ballistic visor, and a 3M reflective Never Summer logo, with a flannel liner to keep your dome warm in the Winter months.
What ensued was magic.
This collaboration sparked a movement of its own, and the pair have been creating sorcery ever since. Subsequently, with an extremely high bar set on the first project, Grassroots and Never Summer continue to break the mold each year. The roots go deep.
Grassroots x Stanley Mouse x Never Summer Collaboration
This season, the pair are teaming up to release a very special collaboration snowboard and collection of apparel. Donning the art of Stanley Mouse, the Grassroots Stanley Mouse Easy Rider x Never Summer board will be an unprecedented, symmetrical version of iconic Proto Type Two, featuring Never Summer’s cutting edge, most innovative profile, the Triple Camber.
Heard of the Triple Camber profile? Scope the Never Summer tech page for an in depth description of TC, as well as the rest of Never Summer’s patented rocker camber profiles and technology.
The original centerpiece art revolves around Stanley’s Dead style theme of skulls and roses, Easy Rider — a symbol of a generation — and brought together by Poling and Denver local artist Trey Brasher, known for their loud, vibrant color taste, and attention to insane detail. The keepsake Triple Camber Type Two piece will be sold through the Never Summer and Grassroots sites, as well as their accompanying retail stores and warehouse / showrooms. There is also talk about a few boards being autographed by the Mouse himself.
The Grassroots Easy Rider x Never Summer softgoods accompanying the board release are going to be something special in their own right. Utilizing the same technical fabrics — Satin, Corduroy, Hemp, Polyester, and logo embroidery — and artisan technique Grassroots is known for, be on the lookout for a selection of hats, tees, a hoody, and a technical, water resistant anorak pullover, with art revolving around Mouse’s Easy Rider graphic, also available exclusively through Grassroots and Never Summer. These one of a kind threads are not only going to protect you from the elements, but will keep you looking fly and riding easy all season long.

Never Summer Triple Camber Proto Type Two
The Proto Type Two was an all-mountain freestyle staple in the Never Summer lineup from 2017-2020, the top-selling model cherished by the most loyal Never Summer riders. The Proto boards always boast the newest Never Summer technology before it trickles out to the rest of the line. When the board was in the main lineup, Transworld Snowboarding mag hailed it as “one of the best Never Summer snowboards [they’ve] ever tested.”
For the very first time, we combined our ground-breaking Triple Camber technology with a versatile mid-flex snowboard. This one of a kind Proto Type Two has incredible edge hold, even in the iciest conditions. Three camber zones throughout — tip, tail, and center, the center camber flanked by two rocker sections — perform under the utmost pressure. The true twin, mid-flex, go anywhere, ride everything snowboard features Harmonic tip and tail dampers, Elastomeric underfoot stabilizers, sintered P-Tex base and sidewalls, and Carbon Max Laminate technology, for a durable board with a buttery smooth, stable ride on any terrain. With an explosive store of energy, the Grassroots x Never Summer Easy Rider Proto Type Two allows a rider to pop and boost in and out of turns. The twin shape allows you to ride switch and regular stance interchangeably, and the overall rocker in the profile makes for float and forgiveness under any condition.
Perfect for ripping anywhere on the hill, the Triple Camber Type Two will thrive for the most aggressive rider, but will also be an easy ride for someone just getting in the game. Hit jumps, spin off of side hits, ride switch, take banger laps through the park, rip trees, carve groomers, float in powder, the Triple Camber Grassroots Proto Type Two does it all. The board is insane, and will take your riding to the next level.
All Never Summer snowboards carry a three-year warranty, and are handcrafted in the USA, created using the best technology and using only the most premium materials.
