Chris Corning, Never Summer Team Rider and World Champion Snowboarder, needs a board with an Ultra-massive store of power that won’t buckle under pressure. The Proto Ultra features a unique shape, our new Triple Camber Twin Profile, an ultra-augmented Carbon Configuration and WooBoo Core. Our CC Carbon Configuration has a full perimeter, top side carbon X and base side dual carbon X for Ultra-power. The WooBoo Core is a precise mix of the highest quality woods and bamboo that bring out the ultra-performance in each material. This board is like driving a race car. I'm 6'6 210 and this board can take it. So much pop and power. The triple camber is great for holding power in carves and landing on edge without slipping out. I can't picture myself riding anything else right now because I have so much fun on this thing.
This snowboard took a little bit of getting used to because I was riding a board that was much too large for me prior to this snowboard. However once I learned how to use it I was able to ride everything with ease and control, it's great for rails, groomers, trees, you name it. The only thing that was still a little difficult was iced out moguls, but still way better than my previous board, definitely recommend for riders wanting to take snowboarding to the next level.
I have been riding for over 20 years and I haven’t been this excited over a new board design since my original NS from 1996. Back then the topsheets were made of fabric and believe it or not, literally decades later, that board still has a lot of life to it. The Proto Ultra x3 camber is the confluence of decades of research & development. By definition this board is a quiver killer; the one board that rules over them all. The benchmark was set pretty high with this board. I'm not sure how anything else can compete with the quality in craftsmanship and design.
If your looking for something to break your top speeds this is the board for you. I had a lot of fun on this board even tho it felt stiff under foot at first. I’m use to a more playful deck but after spending a few days on this deck I had a hard time going back to something softer
Well what an absolute quiver killer…this thing will do whatever you ask. Steeps at speed with variable 6″ to Chalk snow conditions, and this held any line I put it on. Little playful pops off rollers were almost reminiscent of a twin freestyle ride, then I’m setting trenches on the groomers, or riding bumps and tight trees without hesitation. THIS is a dream to ride, you can truly take it anywhere, playful enough for park if you want, aggressive enough for headwalls and wide open bowls.
If I had to give up all 5 of my other Never Summer decks keeping only my Atom 160 Split and one other board this would be it. I have anywhere from a 160 West to an old 165 Titan, been riding NS for 24 years and I am truly blown away with what the TCT profile is capable of, and my quiver has traditional camber, rip saw, and original rocker camber.
Traverse easy on slight edge or flat base, pop and playful for days when Ullr is napping, and power through variable snow, chop, hardpack on the biggest days of the year.
