I was curious about this board when I saw it this year. I got a chance to demo it when I was in Colorado and fell in love with it. I came back home to Montana and ordered one immediately. It came just in time for a few days of snow in this strange winter we have had so I got to test it out in a lot of conditions. First day out, a couple inches of new snow on top of some ice and this thing grips on the ice. The triple camber on my Nohku and Easy rider grips too, but not like this camber profile. Second day out, we got about 4 inches of new snow and a lot softer conditions so I could open it up a little more. This board is so fast edge to edge and way more damp than they give a credit for. Third day out, 12 inches of fresh powder with some anteas closer to 16 inches and I was lucky enough to get first tracks down one of the runs and this board was so smooth and floaty through the powder. I still love my Nohku for deep powder, but this eclipse will give that board a run for its money for sure. The Eclipse floats on top of the powder so well without having to really be back foot heavy and I didn’t have it set all the way back. Fourth day out, we got about 2 inches of fresh snow over top of the previous day snow that was pretty tracked out and this eclipse still bombed through all of it without beating me up. The triple camber recurve It’s so stable under your feet, grips like crazy on the edge, and has so much pop. Every time I have rode this board, I have been blown away about how it performs. This is the most fun board I have ever been on. I was looking for a board that I could take with me when I traveled they can handle everything and I found it with the Eclipse.
Well I gotta say I just did two runs with this things and I'm beyond impressed, I have been hearing about these boards from a few old timers, I finally pulled the trigger and everything those guys were saying was true, great in ice and floats very nicely in powder I give this board a 10/10 I think I'm gonna be riding these boards for a long time
Wanted a board that would stand up to the East Coast iciest of conditions and was steered to the Eclipse 161X. Everything I was looking for although I kinda wish I went to the 165X. I’m a Never Summer lover for sure, the tech is no joke!! Can’t wait to float it on some powder in the trees next!!!
Today was the first day on my Eclipse. I love this board! I was looking for a board that would be great on the ice and hard pack of Maine and the staff at NS were very helpful. It’s incredibly stable, very responsive, fast, carves through ice with confidence and exceeded my expectations!
Finally NS has delivered a lineup for smaller riders. Own the 152 Eclipse and love it. Stiff enough for aggressive and fast riding while also allowing for flexing the board when hitting side hits and jumps. Finally got to ride it in 8 inches of powder and had a blast. Floated well and loved how it handled conditions later in the day when it was all chopped up. Highly recommend this board for someone looking for a directional, camber dominant board.
