Product Details

The Swift was the inspiration for the Shaper Series. Originally we set out to make the greatest powder board of all time. We checked that box, but it turns out we actually made a board that was incredible everywhere. The Swift features the greatest amount of taper in the Shaper Series, with awesome everywhere performance…in or out of POW. Take the Swift anywhere you want to go. It’s the powder board you’ll choose to ride in all conditions.

Paddle out. Get to the line up. Bob up and down observing the sets as they roll through you to pour upon the coast line. Anticipation building as the sets begin to gain amplitude. That's not rain you feel. It's the trade winds blowing spit off the crest of the moving miracle and dumping it onto your back. Push your hands on the rails to sink yourself just a tad more deeper with only the nose piercing out of the ocean because its almost go time. Legs starting to twitch in expectation. No time to think of an avalanche that could lurk below. Here it comes. Your set. You paddle a little to arrange yourself in the perfect take off location. Sea level begins to rise. Drop in. Free falling on moving water is remarkable. Charge toward the bottom zone only to crank and get clearance from the flight deck to begin launch sequence up the face to kiss the lip. Pushing to unleash a kick turn off the wall that will triple the amount of spit the trade winds are capable of creating. Dress like its Halloween and do the Elvis Presley hip grind and knee drop to crack that turn. Shoulders and neck coil and recoil like a well oiled machine. Fingers reached out and so close to touching the sun that you can feel the heat. And if you are lucky, one of your friends is on the paddle back out to the line up and you spatter them. Only to laugh about it later. Good times. I have to look a little closer while on the next factory tour because I'm convinced NS has a secret laboratory and they have a time machine. The design of the Swift is reminiscent of the early days. To begin with, we wanted to surf the mountain. Spit on everything. Nowadays, I can ride around on this 162 and have a blast. The coil and recoil sensation is spot on. But the spit action is the best feature of the deck. The action is created from the perfect placement of camber throughout the design. I spit on the yellow and red safety cushions they place on towers and maintenance equipment. I spit on bamboo sticks blocking off access, slow signs, caution signs and trails merge signs. Basically any obstacle you find. Spit on it. Favorite spot to spit. Off the edge of the cat walk. After the recoil, look back quickly and you can see the snow showering the trees. Take this deck everywhere and enjoy the turns. Everyone will know where you been throughout the day cause the spit marks you leave behind are similar to a dog marking its territory. I enjoy not having to paddle out, but you gotta find a way uphill. Remember to wax the bottom of this deck - not the top. At least no board rash on chest. Use snow boots not flip flops. Grab the correct leash cause you don't want a seven foot cord trailing behind snagging a tree stump. Last time this deck was in my vehicle, it left sand instead of melted snow. Flabbergasted.

Powfinder's take

Shaper Swift is amazing. In the cold fluff the Swift floats aloft like a Raptor on a cloud. The boards shape is forever climbing out of the pow, eager for the next turn. I find myself on this pow board in all conditions, crud, potatos, whipped cream cheese and even on the corduroy. Stable on all variations, quick and responsive in the steep, tight trees. You've done it again!

Agree with what everyone posted. I'm an average skill rider, The Swift makes me more comfortable and confident in powder and trees, and still carves and rides great all over the rest of the mountain.

What I'd add is the incredible brakes on this board! Can stop heel side on a dime by throwing the short, resilient tail. . Very helpful when approaching a lift or getting cut off.. Same move also feels like a fin release(just like on my surfboard) when in nice snow.

I was on the fence between the West Bound and Swift. I currently own the Proto Type 2, but I haven't rode switch nor went to the park. After talking with Vince and Mary through their Customer Service, both recommended Swift for the type or riding I want to do. I do want to make long carves and be stable enough to bomb hills. I'm 175 lbs, 5"7' and wear 8.5M US boots. I ended up buying the Swift 157. I can't wait to try this out next season. Also, the colors on the 20/21 Swift are a good match with my current gear which is blue based.
