The other awesome thing about this board is the graphics. While that should probably never be the sole reason for buying a board, NS nailed my personality this year with a Snowtrooper with Maroon Bells as the graphics. Aside from Sunlight or Sopris, I can't think of another mountain/s that I would rather have on my board. Nobody is talking about this and apparently "AI" couldn't figure out that the graphics are of Maroon Bells. I guess it helps when you have been there in person several times, AI has not. Well, Never Summer nails it again. Makes me think it would be cool to do limited manufacture runs of different resorts maps and graphics on the boards. NS, I'm available for consult and have some great ideas.
I purchased my first NS in 2015 after my Burton Whammy Bar cracked on some strange, small bump. Turns out all of those boards were defective in the nose and all break at the same spot with little effort. It was a great style and the edges were incredible, but after that I went with the Snowtrooper to finish out the season. That 2015 Snowtrooper really renewed my passion and love of the sport. I was able to procure another Whammy Bar for super cheap; however, I have seldomly used it over the years and really fell in love with the Trooper. Fast forward 10 years and I come home from work this week to a brand new Trooper leaning next to the fake tree. My jaw dropped and heart skipped a beat. Might have fallen in love all over again. Both are 152s and though the tech has changed a bit, it feels like it is pretty much built the same. Top sheet was slick on the '15 Trooper and this one has the patterned top for extra grip while boneless. I can't wait to ride this, but we just need a little more snow on the Western Slope. I think NS should put out a "Stormtrooper" with proceeds going to POW or other organizations committed to ensuring we continue to get snow. I would totally buy a Stormtrooper if that was a thing. Thank you, NS, for making this veteran of 30 years riding excited to fall in love with this board all over again. The Snowtrooper also seems to be the most consistent board that NS has released over the years. It has replaced some of the early classics as one of the most versatile and rider friendly boards ever produced. A couple of years ago, I was fortunate to get a very inexpensive, unused Instagator. That pow board is fun and I went pretty short on it. I wish I had a few more centimeters on it, but that's okay because I know the Trooper will hold up in most conditions. Get one and ride 'er hard!
This thing is a tank. Fun to ride. Tons of pop and carves like a dream. Just quality
After getting hooked on snowboarding in 2021, a few friends recommended NS and I demoed the snowtrooper. I was instantly blown away with how good NS makes their snowboards. The durability, design, and performance are top notch. I bought the snowtrooper as my first NS and I haven't looked back since!
Oh man, where do I begin with this baby? even when I'm gliding my way to the gondola and I have one foot in the binding it's so easy to control, and while I'm shredding down the mountain the board is effortless to control, it feels more like I'm riding a skateboard rather than a snowboard, and I feel that's the most important part of a board, control.
