One major problem with this board…it made me want to sell my 23’ burton custom camber immediately. If it was in stock I’d buy a spare right now
I picked up the 2022 version of this board from my local shop when I was looking for a directional all-mountain camber board. Whoo this board RIPS! It’s speedy on flats, carves up groomers like a hot knife through butter, stable on chunder, pops high off side hits and ramps. It’s overall a fun board to ride. Im used to riding the NS hybrid rocker camber and I much prefer the pure camber feel for performance snowboarding. It is easier to catch an edge than the hybrids but that just means my technique needs work. I got the 160 and I’m 5’10, weigh about 165 lbs, size 10 boots. I thought it might be too long of a board for me, but it was really the perfect size. Also feels so bomber like it will last me a lifetime.
I purchased the 2022-2023 NS Hammer 157x this year and love it! I’m 5’-9”, 175-180 lbs, and have a size 10 boot. I also own the 2019 NS Shaper Twin and the 2021-2022 NS Proto FR and the Hammer is by far my favorite. It’s the perfect resort slayer, works well on hard pack, groomers, powder and is super fun to carve. The full camber is tracks awesome and the board rides flat really nicely. This board is definitely my new daily driver! Thanks Never Summer!
This board is awesome I would just recommend riding it with a stiffer binding. I was using some old cartels and found they were a bit weak for this board, riding Cartel X's now and it's a sweet ride. Nose is very butterable, tail a little less so. With the 5mm taper and 1" setback I can lay switch carves with ease. Haven't taken it in anything deeper than ~2ft of powder but it's been great coming from a true twin. It would probably float better without the full camber profile but I specifically wanted a true camber board to rocket out of the carves.
I do keep a twin noodle in the quiver for days when I'm just wanting to play around or riding greens with my wife.
Although I don't have the board yet. The minute a DF Hammer comes available this will be the board for me to go....Until then I just ride my Heritage, West, West Bound, East and Swift split :-)
