First day on it, and I love it already! The first thing I noticed is that the relatively softer flex in the Protoslinger allows me to unlock all of the energy stored in the board, but at the same time it holds a carved turn very well. The underfoot pockets are super responsive to variations in pressure and allow for subtle variations in the shape of the turn. They did a really good job with the asymmetrical edges–the heel side initiates and holds a nice deep line that feels closer to the edge engagement you get with the toe side. The flex allows me to ollie, press, and butter really comfortably. It gave me a quick, nimble pop off of headwalls and side hits. Not sure about powder, but I have the Harpoon for that. For an everyday playful board that just makes every little natural feature insanely fun but does not sacrifice on stability, this is my choice. I’m so happy I bought it!
What can I say... I love this thing! It's playful, fun, buttery, yet stable at speeds, on side hits, throughout larger jumps and rails! I really expected it to be too soft underfoot and wash out/unstable at high speeds yet was pleasantly surprised after I rode it just how awesome it was! I would definitely recommend this board to my park rat, playful, and Beg/Int riders as I think this is just a fun all around deck. I'm an advanced rider myself and had an absolute blast on this thing like you can see in the footage!
