Never Summer at Wolf Creek: It’s Officially Winter!

Wolf Creek Ski Area opened on Saturday October 8th and claimed the “1st Opened” title usually taken by ABasin or Loveland. Never Summer hard chargers Micah, Gags, Joey, and Nick woke up at 3am to make the four hour drive to shred on the official first day of the season. This wasn’t the typical day one…a man made ribbon of death. Wolf Creek opened with three feet of powder! The guys spent the day shredding pow, drank a few post epic day brews, and drove all the way home. Here’s hoping everyday this season is this good!

Never Summer Intern for a Day: 11 Year Old Team Rider Chris Corning

Chris Corning has been riding for Never Summer since he was 8 years old. His dad, Brook Corning, called Never Summer and told us he wanted to give his son, 11 year old Never Summer Team Rider, a real world view. We were told he had a total of one day of experience interning at Community Skate and Snow in Arvada. 11 years old…one day of experience…and we don’t have to pay him…if he works half as hard as he snowboards he’ll be our best employee. He’s HIRED!

Big ups to Brook and Laura Corning for raising this kid to be humble, respectful, and appreciative of all the things he’s received in life! Here’s a look at what he did during his day of hard labor:

Never Summer’s 2011 snowboard movie trailer “Shred ‘em All”!

We didn’t travel the world, or ride in helicopters, or build a private superpipe.  What we did do was create a movie; with our friends, that represents what snowboarding means to us.  HAVING FUN!  20 years ago Never Summer adopted the philosophy of an older, more established company from Vermont… Ben and Jerry’s, “If it’s not fun, why do it?”  For us it still holds true.  Follow us as we travel around hitting what we can, where we can, when we can.  Enjoy!

NS rider Michelle Shea interview on AngrySnowboarder.com!

There’s something to be said about roshamboing with a girl to see who is going to death ride down a pine tree in the preseason. Most people wouldn’t want to jib something that sketchy that early in the season but Michelle was all for it. At that moment in time I realized this chick has the potential for bigger and better things, she might not have had the best season last year, but now she’s poised for a better season this upcoming year.

Never Summer’s reputation of quality and durability began in the early years of snowboarding. Designing and building snowboards since 1983 has given us years of experience in testing and perfecting our snowboard designs and construction methods. We’ve recently taken this experience building snowboards and brought it to the world of longboarding. The end result of our experience coupled with a close working relationship with the world’s leading raw materials manufacturers and engineers allows us to bring you the most durable, high performance boards on the planet! Each board is carefully handcrafted in our Denver, Colorado factory to precision tolerances. Our domestic manufacturing and our ability to improve upon existing technologies resulted in Never Summer being awarded the first patent on any type of hybrid camber technology. We allow only the world’s best snowboard shops to sell our products. Focusing less on excessive promotion and hype, and more on using the highest quality materials, craftsmanship, and customer service has made Never Summer the world’s premier independent board company.
