Never Summer utilizes the following exclusive quality materials and features in our snowboards:

NS CUSTOM FLIGHTCORE

Never Summer’s exclusive CUSTOM FLIGHT CORE is the most technically advanced core system we’ve ever used. Designed and built in NS’s wood- core facility, these cores fuse premium hardwood and ultra light softwood laminates together with vertical layers of elastomeric vibration dampers. These lightweight perimeter dampers actually increase vibration absorption the faster you ride while maintaining an incredible amount of snap and liveliness, providing a level of edgehold and high speed performance that only a Never Summer snowboard can deliver.

MULTI-FLEX PROFILED FLIGHTCORE

Modified from the NS Custom Flightcore, this core profile incorporates a powerful tail flex and a more responsive mid flex. It’s core profile is tapered to the thousandth of an inch in our factory, giving it a slightly thinner core profile in the tip for powder floatation and a stiffer tail for carving out of turns.

PRESS FLEX CORE

This core design is perfect for the Evo and Revolver models and features 2 specific softer flex points between the feet creating better hinge points for ultimate pressing and ollie performance.

NS SUPERLIGHT WOOD CORE

Taking our custom flight core even further, we’ve designed the SUPERLIGHT WOOD CORE specifically for our new Carbonium series. This core blends extremely light wood with durable hardwood for unmatched strength to weight ratio.

RDS 1 DAMPING SYSTEM

This is our most extensive damping system specifically designed for the Premier F1 and Lotus. Three full perimeter layers of elastomeric rubber foil are laminated between the metal edge, fiberglass and wood core. This provides unmatched stability and a smooth riding feel especially at high speeds.

RDS 2 DAMPING SYSTEM

This lightweight system uses three narrower laminated damping layers that provide the perfect combination of vibration absorption and stability. RDS 2 is specifically designed for the SL, Legacy and Infinity.

EDS DAMPING SYSTEM

The EVO DAMPING SYSTEM (EDS) delivers increased edgehold and high speed stability without compromising the Evo and Revolver’s freestyle performance.

DURASURF SINTERED 4501 BASE

Crown Plastics has been the industry leader in sintered materials for over 36 years and has created the DURASURF 4501 sintered base exclusively for Never Summer. This new high density base is extremely fast and will provide unmatched performance and durability.

DRC DIRECTIONAL ROCKER/CAMBER PROFILE

DRC is designed to enhance edge hold and stability while maintaining powder floatation. This is accomplished by extending the camber to the end of the effective edge in the tip, increasing pressure over this area. To compensate for this additional pressure, we’ve shifted the rocker toward the tail making for unmatched carving at high speeds and a more forgiving ride.

BI-DIRECTIONAL ROCKER CAMBER PROFILE

Camber extends from the rocker/mounting area at an equal distance to the tip and tail for a balanced feel while reducing edge grab and increasing the glide.

BI-LITE FIBERGLASS

BI-LITE fiberglass combines many of the strength characteristics of STS ADVANCED fiberglass with an ultra light glass fiber matrix. This delivers incredible freestyle and freeride performance without sacrificing durability..

CARBON V-TWIN LAMINATE TECHNOLOGY

The Premier F1 and Lotus benefit most from the CARBON V-Twin laminate system which extends the carbon “V”s from the bindings to the ends of the effective edge increasing power and edge response. An additional carbon V is added to the tail to increase edge hold and power out of turns.

CARBONIUM LAMINATE TECHNOLOGY

More carbon equals more power and performance. The new Carbonium Laminate Technology combines an advanced top and base carbon matrix to maximize torsional response and strength where it’s needed most. The result is a lightweight yet powerful design that will keep the Carbonium Series boards going strong for years.

CARBON VXR LAMINATE TECHNOLOGY

The CARBON VXR system is specifically designed for our SL, Legacy, Evo, Revolver and Infinity freestyle snowboards. Dual carbon v’s help transfer more energy to the end of the effective edge, tip and tail without making these boards too stiff for buttering and presses. This is the most versatile Carbon system for those that prefer a freestyle feel to their board whether in the park or freeriding the mountain.

CARBONIUM TOPSHEET

A very durable, scratch and chip resistant material with a high tech carbon fiber like visual. This textured material also provides more grip than a gloss topsheet, working as a built in stomp pad.

SINTERED P-TEX SIDEWALL

We were the first snowboard company to use and perfect SINTERED P-TEX SIDEWALLS, and we’ve never seen one crack. Unlike conventional ABS sidewalls, that have a tendency to crack in colder temperatures, SINTERED P-TEX SIDEWALLS maintain their integrity at any temperature.

STS PRETENSIONED FIBERGLASS

The world’s best snowboard fiberglass, period. Our STS ADVANCED fiberglass is a pre-hardened, pre-tensioned, layered laminate that has added elastomer stringers between the 0 degree and 90 degree glass fibers the length of the effective edge. This produces a stronger bond between the individual glass laminates giving our snowboard unmatched strength, edge hold and performance.

CDS DAMPING SYSTEM

The CARBONIUM DAMPING SYSTEM (CDS) greatly reduces vibration and provides unmatched high speed stability and control. Thin elastomeric rubber stringers reduce vibration from the metal edge and surrounding laminates. Stringers below the inserts and under the carbon dampen any additional vibration near the bindings, giving the Carbonium Series boards a smooth rid- ing feel underfoot without sacrificing snap and power throughout the board.

DURASURF XT SINTERED 5501 BASE

Crown Plastics has developed an exclusive, super fast, durable sintered base specifically for the Carbonium Series. Just the right amount of graphite has been added making the DURASURF 5501 XT base the fastest we’ve ever used.

PPT POWDER PORPOISE TECHNOLOGY

A combination of the rocker/camber superior floatation with the tapered shape, extensive setback, and a more defined bottle nose enabling the Summit to pop out of the powder with the greatest of ease.

F1 ELASTOMERIC STABILIZERS

Added layers of rubber directly underneath the mounting area to reduce foot fatigue and add to stability at high speeds.

P-TEX TIP & TAIL PROTECTION

Full wrap polyethylene tip and tail protection for unmatched impact and vibration absorption.

FULL WRAP METAL EDGE

High quality steel protects the entire perimeter of the board in crucial areas of the tip and tail against impact.

DAMPNESS & FLEX METERS

Dampness: 10 is very damp (more stable and smooth riding at high speeds), 1 is least damp (more snappy and lively underfoot) Flex: 10 is stiffer in flex (better for high speed freestyle and freeriding, better for bigger riders), 1 is softer in flex (better for presses, butters, more forgiving)

ROCKER & CAMBER

Never Summer’s lineup featuring our patented R.C. (Rocker & Camber) Technology and Vario Power Grip sidecut geometry combines a rocker freestyle feel with all mountain high speed performance. Unlike older generation rocker and “flat”camber designs that may perform well in powder and parks but lack stability and edgehold when riding fast, our combined rocker and camber (R.C. Technology) design destroys anything in its path from parks to steeps, to powder and high speed cruisers. This technology blends a NS custom rocker profile with separate camber areas at each end of the board, providing unmatched power and snap out of turns. This also provides better board tracking for high speed stability and massive ollies. The Vario Power Grip sidecut works perfectly with this new design by adding increased edgehold precisely where it’s needed most; from 2 inches outside of each binding, inward towards the center of the board providing added control and response in any condition.
