After reading a friends blog, The Dainty Dish I thought our readers would like to know what my Essential Ski Resort Riding Gear was. This will be a 3 part series to include backcountry riding gear and photography gear. Who knows maybe some of our contributors will submit there own…
We sent our boy Will Nangle over to Saas Fee last week to film an interview for thing we have in the pipes on Fredi Kalbermatten. Fredi’s currently getting back from knee surgery so we thought while he was in town Will should head up and film some park shenanigans. Yeah right. It dumped almost a metre and buried the park, so he hooked up with local rider Alessandro Boyens and negotiating avvie dangers and unstable snow bridges, bagged this short clip of Saas Fee’s first powder day of the year. May many more follow.
For sure it’s not the most awesome gnarl you’ll ever see, but damn does it make us wanna go out and grab some face shots for ourselves…
This was our first day of jibbing for the 2010-2011 season. It was a super fun session until it got prematurely ended by some not so cool law busta’s. So stoked for winter to be here and to be shredding again. Enjoy
On November 10-11 loveland ski area hosted a shop demo day. Local shred shops from all over colorado rolled out to try the new gear and see what its all about. Just a few quick shots with gags and some shops around colorado!
Some people ride chairlifts for their first turns of the season, some people hike handrails for their first shred session. This year, we put in some hiking time to get our first pow turns of the season – trekking into a basin in Southern Colorado’s Backcountry. It took about 3 hours to reach the saddle of the Couloir, and the snowpack was variable and windblown, but it was a great way to start a La Nina snow year. Pura Vida Boludo!
Come hang out and enjoy a great rail jam sponsored by NS and put on by ColoradoSkiShop.com! The jam format goes from 10am-4pm, for all ages. Catch more details at the Colorado ski shop or on facebook, see you there!
