Proto Ultra
Olympian Chris Corning needs a top of the line board to perform at the highest levels in snowboarding. This is the most powerful, all mountain true twin in the Never Summer lineup. The perfectly balanced, mid-wide Proto Ultra features more carbon and a stiffer flex than the Proto Synthesis and Triple Camber profile for ultimate edge hold and performance.

To start this Review, let me give you some specs: I work as a Snowboard Tester for a Local Boardshop and we go on Events every year - I tested 80-100 boards in the last years with one Intention: To find the perfect One Board Do It All Solution - last year I tested the Proto Ultra sith the Triple Camber and was really blown away!! The Board has amazing Pop, Carves amazing, has really amazing Float in Powpow, and is super reactive but at the same time damp and smooth like a butter knife! I am really looking forward of testing the 24/25 Model with Recurve Camber!
I have put some time into riding this board between this season and the end of last season. As it is my 4th board i have found something i truly love. This board is my do it all park riding mountain riding groomers powder anything. The edge hold this board produces allows for intense speed and stability. Anytime i let someone ride the board they fall in love with it. If you're thinking about it, just send it, i ride a 154 at 5'10" 155lbs and it allows for the perfect amount of whip while still being stable.
Brought my Proto Ultra to VT and had a good day at Jay peak mid December. Made it on the 1st Tram lift to the top and this thing rips corduroy like no other. It handled the end of day chop just as well. Found myself in the Beaver Pond Glades more than once, not the ideal board but was more manageable than expected. The wide waist and triple camber make setting up and landing jumps very stable. For ref I am 5'8" 175lbs and rock a size 8 boot, went with the 154 and it feels perfect. I was worried about the waist width being too large, but it is absolutely fine. This replaced my Smokin Superpark and is a huge upgrade for my riding style. I don't ride boxes, rails or jibs to compare that aspect, but for getting air and general carving the Ultra will be my go to.
This board is amazing. I took it up to keystone early season/last week and it handled everything like a beast. Like riding on a cloud over ice, powder, or anything else. These guys are truly an amazing and awesome company and they have the rider in mind with every new product they make. I’m extremely satisfied with the Tripple Proto Ultra I got! For reference I’m 5’10 140lbs and this board is an absolute perfect fit for me.
She's stable, carves on ice, floats in pow, and can stomp any trick. Feels more similar to a camber board with the pop of a park board.
